His eyes do not spend more than
five seconds looking at her, yet in those five seconds his brain has made its
calculations deciding whether she is attractive or not. What did he see in
those five seconds?
Attractiveness is both subjective
and objective. Society
defines a lot of our judgments on each other’s attractiveness today, as it has
done throughout history.
However, it has also more
recently been proven by research that we are born into this world with an
innate understanding of judging beauty as well. For
instance, research has shown that babies recognize attractiveness in facial
characteristics of people they look at at even a few hours old.
Attractiveness
is useful biologically in a number of ways chiefly because it is generally a
good indicator of the fitness of the genes of a person. Therefore, throughout
history it has played a key role in mate selection.
There are many common things that
count as beauty markers for both sexes, male and female. However, e this
article is about the top 11 bodily markers that make women attractive to "MOST" (not all) men in those
first few seconds of a man glancing at a woman, this hub will focus on those.
11
SKIN COMPLEXION:
It has been
proven that most men find a light skin tone attractive in a woman across races
and ethnicities, and have done throughout history. Women also in general are
considerably lighter than men.
10
BLEMISH FREE BODY:
A clear, acne free,
wrinkle free, blemish free face and a blemish free body give any woman a high
rating in the beauty test.
Researchers at Rice University and the University of Houston
conducted a study on beauty’s effect on success, limiting their study to how
facial appearance affects excellence in a job interview. The study found that
people with facial blemishes and “disfigurements” – birthmarks, scars,
blemishes – were more likely to be rated poorly by their interviewers. The interviewers tended to recall less information about these
candidates’ which negatively impacted their evaluations.
In that glance, when a man sees a lady he finds attractive,
it sends pleasurable feelings to his brain and makes her face and features
stick. Blemishes have the opposite effect, and more blemishes means a reduced
attractiveness rating or the forgetting of the features just seen altogether.

HEAD PROPORTIONS IN RELATION TO BODY:
8
HAIR COLOR AND STYLE:
A dull color of
hair generally is less appealing to men than a lively color. Biologically, this
is because dull colors represent aging and diminished fertility. Brown hair, or
blonde hair does not fall into the category of dull hair. Dull colored hair is
hair that is either grayish owing to age or malnutrition, or without
glossiness.
7
EYES:
The more
obviously white and lively the eyeballs are, the more attractive a woman will
seem to a man. This is why many cosmeticians in attempting to beautify women
use eye products that draw attention to the eyes, such as eyeliners. Also, the
more aligned the eyes are to the golden proportions, the more attractive a man
will find them.
Also, men prefer
large eyes in a woman. Biologically, they imply that a woman has more estrogen,
therefore more reproductive capacity.
6
CHEEKS:
Men generally would seem
to prefer women with high cheek bones. Also, a woman that can noticeably blush
(cheeks turn pinkish) is considered more attractive than a woman who cannot,
other things remaining equal.
5
LIPS:
4
HANDS
A
veined-hand reduces the score on the beauty grade.
3
LEGS AND FEET:
A woman who has
hairy legs and feet or legs with noticeable veins reduces her chances of being
considered attractive in that first glance.Veined feet generally do not have
the same effect in reducing attractiveness that veined legs and hand have.
2
STATURE AND BODY
PROPORTIONS:
Many
men consider tall women as more attractive than shorter women. Also, many
men seem to like women with noticeably larger breasts and bust size. In a study
conducted in France, men were more likely to pick up hitchhikers if they had
larger breasts and bust size. Also, women with large buttocks (but not too
extreme for their overall body proportions) are considered more sexually
attractive by many people and in many parts of the world, than women with flat
or average looking buttocks. Also, wide hips are attractive in a woman because
biologically it presupposes a high sexuality and fertility and is a marked differentiation
from the male body form.
1
DRESSING:
Arguably, this plays the
biggest role in men’s decision of whether a woman is attractive or not at that
first glance. How a woman adorns her neck or her feet can have an impact on how
feminine and attractive men find her to be. A study done in France determined
that men were overwhelmingly more likely to run to the aid of a woman who fell
on the street if she was wearing high-heeled shoes than to the aid of a woman
who wore flats. Also, wearing revealing clothes generally focus attention on
the sexuality of a woman and therefore tend to increase the attractiveness of
that woman, if only for that one minute glance. Colors also are influencers of
mood, and therefore attractiveness. Orange has been known to be one of the most
pleasing colors to the human eye, so unconsciously, it may influence decisions
on attractiveness, as so will other colors which contrast in pleasing ways with
body structure and skin complexion.
